Yesterday, a remake of the classic RPG was announced. The question about the KOTOR remake's status comes off the back of a report last year that claimed it wasn't faring well. When asked about the status of the KOTOR remake, Wingefors simply said: "no further comments". Last week, publisher Embracer held an investor briefing, where company CEO Lars Wingefors fielded questions. This requires a bit of unpacking marketing terminology, but the official blog post says the KOTOR remake is a console exclusive on PlayStation 5 at launch. In short, this DLC will include new missions, new dialogue, and other features that could impact the game's branching story paths. The KOTOR Remake platforms will initially include PC and PS5. To coincide with the recent release of Knights of the Old Republic 2 on Nintendo Switch, developer Aspyr confirmed that it will be releasing DLC for this port that it's calling "restored content." Essentially, this is content that was cut from the original game back when it launched in 2004 but will now be added again for the first time.
